SOLD Original Art "Frizzell and West 24x30"
This original artwork is SO special to me. My mother, Shelly West and my uncle David Frizzell make up what is the duo “Frizzell and West.” My mom was pregnant with me at the very height of their career and hits, so doing this painting really reminded me of my entire childhood. They had multiple hit songs, their biggest song being recently coined by Billboard as one of the top 20 duets of all time, “You’re The Reason God Made Oklahoma.”
The painting is of a photo by Ron Newcomer, of them performing at the Wheeling Jamboree In The Hills at Brush Run Park in St. Clairsville Ohio in July 1982, where I am side stage and only about two months old.
My very first painting of “Frizzell and West” has been signed at the bottom right by both my mom and uncle David. In the past couple of years, my uncle David has been inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, and my mother inducted into the Ohio Country Music Hall of Fame (which is where my mom signed this painting). When she saw it she mentioned I am the only person related to both the Frizzell’s and the West’s…. a sentimental one to me for sure! I hope someone treasures this piece of art and collector’s item!
