Merle Haggard "Final Show" Art Print 11x14"

$50.00

One of my very top selling art prints. This was from an original painting I did of a photo of Merle walking out to a last show (Toby Keith behind him).

And here’s the story:

"Merle had to pay his band and crew, so there was no calling in sick for this gig. Toby got word that Merle was in Vegas, so he went to see him … Merle was in bad shape. He needed to be in a hospital – not on a stage; but The Show Must Go On.”

He turned to Toby and asked, 'How many songs of mine do you know?' To which Toby responded, “all of them.” Toby finished out Merle’s show and let him keep his dignity. He passed away not many months after.

This painting is from a photo of them walking out onto the stage that night Toby behind Merle in more ways than one. It’s titled “The Final Show.”

Thank you Randy Rich of Nashville Music Guide for commissioning me to do this original painting for you.
