Merle was one of my all time favorites. A close friend to both sides of my family, he always credited uncle Lefty with being the reason he got in the music business, after having him get on stage and sing with his guitar as a teenager. He bought that exact guitar of Lefty’s after he passed.
I was so honored to get to be on an album with him in 2008 titled “Frizzell and Friends.”
