About Tess Frizzell
Tess Frizzell was born into country music royalty as the daughter of CMA and ACM Award winner Shelly West and award-winning country gospel artist Allen Frizzell. Her heritage runs deep: her grandmother, Dottie West, is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, as is her uncle, Lefty Frizzell. Her mother and uncle, David Frizzell, recorded the iconic duet “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma.”
Music
Carrying forward this remarkable legacy, Tess has become a respected artist in her own right. She writes with some of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters and tours nationwide, performing both her own original music and the timeless hits made famous by her family. She was also the co-writer of the official Make-A-Wish Foundation song. Her shows combine music and storytelling, bringing audiences into the heart of her family’s legendary history. Tess has shared the stage with many of country music’s greatest names, appeared on national television, and is preparing to release a new album featuring special guest performances from Waylon Payne, Pam Tillis, and others.
Art
Tess is also an accomplished portrait artist. Her work has been featured in prestigious institutions, including the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, the Hank Williams Museum, and the Hank Snow Historical Home. At the Legends of Country Music Museum, her artwork is displayed prominently on the front of the building, making her mark a part of the very face of country music history. She has created commissioned pieces for the families of President Jimmy Carter and President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
